Kathleen Vertin

Founder/Executive Director

Kathleen enjoyed a 20-year career in the automotive and aerospace tooling industries where she met her husband Tom and joined him in his family business, Visioneering, Inc., where she served as CFO. Tom was President/CEO with a keen focus on operations and innovation and has numerous patents to his credit. Prior to assuming the CFO role at Visioneering, Kathleen served as Vice President of the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau. This is where she learned the economic value of tourism to a community. Kathleen received her BBA from Northwood in 1987 and returned to earn an MBA in 1995. Upon retiring from her career in industry, she served as adjunct faculty in the DeVos Graduate School for two years until she was asked to join the Board of Trustees in 2008. She Received an Honorary Doctorate from the University in 2016 in recognition of her achievements and service.

 

Brittany Everitt Smith

Artistic Director | Production Manager

Brittany has her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Miami. After meeting her husband Aaron and moving to Port Huron she was hired at Riverbank Theatre in 2014. Riverbank directing credits include The 39 Steps, And the Winner Is, Mary Poppins, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Sister Act, Moon Over Buffalo, The Nerd, Baskerville, A Christmas Story; Almost, Maine; Moonlight and Magnolias, and Grease. Brittany also serves as resident choreographer. She grew up in the world of competitive dance with training in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, and musical theatre styles. Select choreography credits include Hello Dolly!, Marry Poppins, Sister Act, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Promises, Promises, Cabaret, Seussical, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Oliver!, Cinderella, The Music Man, Gypsy, Oklahoma, and A Christmas Story.

 

STEPHANIE GRAHAM

Education Director | Performing Arts Academy

Stephanie Graham is an Actress, Singer, Classical Vocal and Piano Instructor, and Music and Theatre Director. She has studied theatre and music for over 15 years and graduated from Capital University with a BA in Theatre, Music, and Communications. Stephanie has experience working with youth in the arts in many different facets: Directing, Music Directing, and Producing several shows as well as teaching music classes to kids of all ages. Some of her most recent directing projects have been Frozen Jr., Seussical Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., and she was also recently seen as a performer in the Sound of Music at the Riverbank Theatre! Stephanie’s mission in teaching is to approach music with creativity, empathy, and passion!

 

ABBEY KUHNS

Assistant Production Manager | Tech Manager

Abbey (she/her) has a BA in Theatre from Saginaw Valley State University where she trained in media design and direction. Her first design placed as the runner-up for the 2023 National Projections Design Award presented by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. She challenges herself with every production to learn something new, whether it is a computer software, physical skill, or style of performance. Outside of theatre, Abbey has also worked in broadcasting and faith-based organizations as project management and technical support. Her mission is to empower women in technical theatre and spread love through the arts.
